"Just keep doing what you're doing. I appreciate your great service, the kindness, but most importantly I value the trust that has been established. I feel totally comfortable that Dr. G. will always do whats best for my four-legged children.

Thank you for all your dedication to the well being of our pets!"

"Dr. Gandolfi and his whole staff are not only the nicest of people but they are the most knowledgeable of any veterinarians that I have ever met and I have met many as I used to work for a veterinarian myself. They have the kindest of hearts are always there when you need them, even when it comes to the toughest of times they help you through and make everything so much easier.

I live approximately 70 miles from Castro Valley Companion Animal Hospital and pass many other veterinarians on my way there and the reason I do this is because I know I will never have to wonder about or second guess any decisions made by Dr. Gandolfi, as I said, I used to work for a veterinarian and if there is one thing I have learned from that is how to tell the difference between the good ones and the GREAT ones and Dr. Gandolfi is actually the GREATEST one of all that I have met when it comes to how to care for a sick animal and how to keep animals from getting sick by keeping them healthy and giving instructions on home care so that we can keep them well."

"If you are like me your pets are members of the family, and finding professional care you can trust can be painfully difficult.  Well leave your worries at the door when you visit Castro Valley Companion Animal Hospital!!!!  My cat Buju was deathly ill when I brought him in to see Dr. Gandolfi and staff.  To be honest I was probably in worse shape than Buju.  Dr. Gandolfi was very patient and knowledgeable, the other employees very professional and welcoming.  They took the time to explain exactly what our options were and even sent pictures of the work performed.  But most important to me was that Buju’s best interest and well-being were obviously the main concern, not the paycheck.  The people at Companion Animal Hospital made me feel like part of the team and it really motivated me to take care of Buju to a whole other level when I took him home.  I would recommend Castro Valley Companion Animal Hospital to anyone who loves their animals and plans to have them as life-long companions.  Thank you again Dr. Gandolfi and Staff."

"I became familiar with Dr. Gandolfi in the early 1980’s when he treated our menagerie of snakes, rodents, and various exotic animals from the Lawrence Hall of Science. I didn’t think it was possible for a Vet to be familiar with such a wide variety of animals, but Dr. Gandolfi  is no ordinary Vet. We became a client of CVCAH in 1998 with our Cocker Spaniel Zin, and now with our new puppy Bodie. Knowing the doctor and his staff are dedicated to the expanding science of animal care gives me peace of mind, and it shows in their knowledge of new treatment methods. When we have needed to be referred to specialists, we have been well taken care of by doctors who exercise the same care and expertise as the Doctor and his staff. I don’t know who is more high maintenance, me or my puppy, but all my questions are answered, and after any necessary treatment, a reassuring follow-up phone call to answer any further questions. I know I can depend on a quick reply my urgent (or not so urgent) inquiries, and Bodie enjoys visiting with everyone at the office.  I don’t think he’s figured out he’s going to 'The Doggie Doctor' yet J.  I wouldn’t take him anywhere else. All paws up!"

"There is no way I can adequately thank you for taking care of "Happy". I know you are doing it because you are such a caring person. That is not a new revelation, but I thought I should tell you that you are a wonderful human and you make the world a better place. You and your staff have always been so very attentive with your telephone checks and willingness to be available and helpful, you put other medical professionals to shame - people doctors should take a lesson!"

"Dear Dr. Gandolfi and staff,

You have my undying gratitude for the treatment and concern that Tabi, my ferret, and I received on the first of August. You worked a very sick little ferret into your already busy schedule and treated her with such kindness and skill. She is now bouncing about in her normal manner as if to say "thanks" in her own ferrety way. Your whole staff was very concerned and personable. I wish I could thank them all in person."

"We just want to share with you the wonders you have worked with Abby. Since diagnosing her thyroid problem, and now pulling her teeth, she is a new cat. She comes out to socialize with us in the evenings, sleeps with us at night, and Marty just called to say she is playing and batting round a toy - we have never seen her do that. When we first got her, she spent the first few weeks inside the box frame of the queen size bed in "her" room - and even later when she got more courageous, she would spend all of her time in the cat tree or in her bed in "her" room, running under the bed if anyone came near.

She is a changed cat, in a beautiful and happy frame of mind, and we have you to thank for a good portion of that. Thank you!"

"I first met Dr. Bercovitz when my two Schnauzers “interviewed” her. Yes, they did. And having been a “Schnauzer Mom” for years, I trusted their judgment! She got down on the floor with them and they immediately smothered her in doggie kisses! Dr. B has always cared for my “girls,” first Abigail and Sarah, and now Sarah and Liberty. Abby had both kidney and heart disease, and balancing her care was always a challenge, yet one Dr. B met with skill, lots of research, and always with kindness and consideration. When it was time to let her go, Dr. B was there to help us know when the time was right. Everyone at Companion is respectful and caring. They really “get” what it is to love animals and to want the very best care for them. I never hesitate to recommend Dr. B and Companion Animal Hospital."

"Dr. B. started caring for our beloved Nutmeg about 6 years ago, and helped us through her final days with sensitivity and honesty. She now cares for our senior Bailey and rescued street-stray Charger with the same dedication. She is very thorough in her physical exams, focused, has a scientific mind, blended always with genuine liking for animals. I always bring a list of questions, which she patiently takes the time to answer. She lets us 'partner' in our dog care, and will research for answers to questions beyond the norm. She just this week called to inquire about Bailey after he had a night emergency clinic visit after ingesting gopher bait. We and our dogs love our Dr. B.

P.S.: When Dr. Bercovitz changed clinics, we followed her! Many of the employees did too, which I see as a testament to how much they respect her and like working with her."
